Hey guys! I’m back today with one of our FAVORITE breakfast recipes, Sausage Breakfast Cabbage. Yes, it’s cabbage for breakfast. Now before you turn your nose up at cabbage for breakfast, please, please, please try it! You may be pleasantly surprised. My husband (once the leader of the anti-cabbage movement) actually requests this recipe frequently. My girls love it as well. So at least try it once!
So I know what you’re thinking…..This looks great, but is it hard?
NO WAY!!! I am a busy homeschool mom, so I can’t really do hard. To make it easier I use a bag of pre-shredded cabbage. It’s just a matter of throwing it all in the skillet. We like things spicy here so we use a generous amount of Cajun seasoning. This is my favorite one. As written the recipe is low-carb, so I add a nice piece of wheat toast for my kiddos. You can see from the picture that we love to top ours with a fried egg. Yum!
One word of caution on this recipe, be careful with the salt! Cajun seasoning is a bit salty anyway, so you may want to taste before you add more.
If you are following the Trim Healthy Mama plan this recipe is an S.
So there you have it, our tasty Sausage Breakfast Cabbage. It’s a simple way to get in those veggies at breakfast.
